Transferred to...?

Family,

Well hello! Sounds like you guys had a good week. "Damian" emailed me and told me his mom was pregnant and that is just awesome. I'm gonna have three nephews or nieces when I get home that I haven't met yet. [Has Skylar told him something that he hasn't told us?] Ha... crazy stuff! Where is Braiden Udy at? That is tough. How long has he been out?

MC is killin' it! That's always good to hear that they win and what not. Who does Buddha throw to? I smiled when I read the paragraph about Tay at soccer. She has the Harvey desire to win every game and be the best, that's a good thing!

Well yet another week has passed by. Pretty crazy how time flies. This last transfers flew by, now that I look back at it. We had transfer calls last night and... I'm getting moved. My work in McNeil is done. It is a sick area but I'm ready for my next.

My future companion and I are getting doubled into an area. So I'm pumped to see how it works and to be able to teach a lot of people in this new area. I don't know if it has been closed for a bit or if it just a bad set of missionaries were there last transfer. I will know that next week. I'm hoping that it has been closed and that we get to open an area up, but I'm betting that we are just getting doubled into. But I'm pumped! So... don't send my stuff until I know where to send it.

It is tough to leave this area because we are seeing a lot of miracles and great things happening, and the ward is just sick! And our district of missionaries I have grown close to a couple of them like our district leader and his companion. But I know that I'm done here and I'm ready to go dominate the next area.

Elder Loveless is staying obviously, and he will be able to baptize Carina this week. She is super solid and ready to go. Every time we teach her something she just says oh yeah I know about that I'm already living it. She is legit and way golden. She asked the question on the phone last night about blacks and the priesthood, because her son is half black and so she is already looking forward 9 years because he is 3 and she already is talking about him getting the priesthood. Super solid! It's people like that where I just wish we could find one of them every week and just have solid baptismal dates.

The floods... Man they were crazy. I imagine it was on the news or else you wouldn't have asked about them. It was pretty bad. It rained for like 3 days hardcore and just flooded everything. We went on Saturday to do service on one of the roads that is right by the river and every house just trashed. Mud and stuff all over and just ruined a ton of stuff that they had. We helped clean out their garage and tear out sheetrock. Then we would walk down the street and see if other people needed help, and of course they did, so we would do the same. It is awesome to see a community come together and help people out that are in need. I was grateful for the chance that we had to help them. Elder Loveless took some pictures so I will get them from him and send them next week or something, because I didn't have my camera on me.

We talked in Sacrament Meeting last Sunday. It was good except we got chastised by our bishop afterwards. It was a good awakening though. He told us of the new rule that the First Presidency has sent out of how in Sacrament Meeting when members give talks they don't want the congregation to be asked to follow along. And when I talked I invited them to follow along a couple of times. But, it was a good talk I thought besides that. Elder Loveless and I got the Singles Ward pumped to do missionary work.

My Spanish is coming a long. We contacted a couple of people in Spanish this week and taught a lesson or two. I feel the spirit guiding me more and more every day. And I know that without the spirit I would not be able to teach - just like it says in D&C. The mission is awesome, even though there are some hard times, but the good times outweigh them. I'm grateful to have grown up in the church and have the mission on my mind from the beginning. So thank you Mom and Dad.

I think that is about it. I will have more next week when I get to my new area and with my new companion. I love y'all.

Elder Harvey

  1. Um, has anyone asked Skylar and Ash yet? I'm curious where Chris got the number 3?
