Family,
Well another week of transfers. They changed it up on us last Thursday. We are just doing the transfer week normal and having P-day on Monday and transfers on Thursday and so that is why I'm emailing on Monday instead of Tuesday like I had told you to expect. We got our calls last night. Some crazy things are happening throughout the mission, Elders training after like 2 transfers or 3, people going to crazy places, just crazy stuff. My companion is leaving, he still doesn't know where and he is becoming a District Leader. So I will be receiving a new companion, and am staying right where I am. Also, I am becoming Senior Companion and District Leader of the district here in Riverside. It will be good for me because I am ready. I've always wanted to be a leader in the mission and be given the change to teach by example. So I'm excited!
Pretty good week this last week. It went pretty fast.
I actually have been having a hard time, just sick of being a missionary. Because honestly you get rejected all day everyday, I'm sick of doing the same things over and over. I have just been wanting to give up and come home and move on with life. Luckily this last week something happened that has gotten me to have the desire again. In the Riverside Ward, as missionaries and the Ward, we had an open house. We watched The Testaments. It's been a long time since I have watched that. It was a great turnout and a lot of people came from the Ward and also we had an investigator there. Sonya came which was very good. First the movie is just amazing, and you can feel the Spirit so strong as you watch it. And as we were watching it, it really re-fueled my desire to be a missionary. I regained the desire to work and to share this message with everyone, that Christ lives and this is His church and we have another record of him. Since that is where the Testaments come from, is 3 Nephi 11. I really felt the spirit testifying of the truthfulness of it as well. And it was great also because Sonya really felt the Spirit and she had a lot of love from the members. As she was leaving she said "me voy a bautizar en esta iglesia" which means "I'm going to get baptized in this church" and so that was very exciting for Elder Sherwood and I because she is really elect. We were pretty stoked after that, but she wasn't able to make it to church yesterday, we don't know what happened with her but we are going to work with her so that she can get baptized, because she really feels changes in her life coming from The Book of Mormon and from praying everyday. She is legit!
And so this last week was great because of that, I'm recommitted to the Lord to do his work.
That's about all that happened for this week.
Love you all!
Elder Harvey
