Bueno!
How is everything going? It sounds like the ranch was pretty fun and eventful. How were the parties?
Isn't Chelsey due really soon? Like in September? I'm glad the family is having fun.
So this week..
Well I don't even know where it went. It flew by pretty fast tell you the truth. It feels like yesterday we were having our last p-day.
We have not met President Jones yet. We are meeting him on Wednesday of this week for Zone Conference which will be awesome. And then on the 21st will be our first interviews with him. He seems pretty awesome from what we have heard and I am excited to serve under him.
We are still trying to get in contact with Kenneth. He kind of fell off the world. We went by this last week and we knocked and all we heard was yelling and stuff. And we opened the door and he was saying the F word and stuff and freaking out that people had been knocking on his door all day. Then we told him it was the missionaries and he was like oh, I'm having a bad day come back later and call before you come. And it was just a bad feeling right when we knocked on his door. So we called a couple of times but he hasn't answered ever and hasn't called back. So we will see about him. We are giving him his space to see if he really wants it...
This last week we found a new girl that we are teaching now. She is 31 and we got her by referral from other missionaries cuz we are the singles ward. She is a pretty sweet referral. We have talked to her twice and she if very receptive to the message. She is reading The Book of Mormon and talking to her member friend in Salt Lake via Facebook. Evidently 2 or 3 years ago she lived with this friend and her friend kind of talked about the church and stuff but not a whole lot. So it just strengthens my testimony that no effort is wasted. Her friend planted a seed and now she is ready to learn more. It is sweet.
We are now beginning to knock a whole lot again. And just trying to find people to teach. We aren't having too much luck with it but we are working hard.
On Friday we had an appointment about a mile down the road in the morning. So we decided to walk down there. She cancelled on us and so we began knocking in this apartment complex. Some pretty sweet things happened. One was that we knocked into a guy named Brandon and he instantly let us in. We started talking and he began crying. He explained to us that his wife of 5 years went down to Brazil or somewhere to study and now she isn't coming back because she has found another man. And it was just a bad deal. But the cool thing is he was like wow it is such a miracle that you guys are here and it is awesome how the Lord works in mysterious ways and stuff. And he thought it was so cool that he took a picture of us and he was like I'm going to remember this day and put this somewhere cuz this is awesome. So it is sweet how the Lord works and I was grateful that I was able to knock into him.
And the other thing is that has been raining hardcore. It down poured for like 2 hours and we stood under a car port for about 30 minutes cuz we wanted to see if it would stop. But it didn't so we decided we had no choice but to walk back. We got SOAKED! I am lying in a huge puddle of water in the picture I've attached. I swear it was like 5 inches deep. I can't get the video to upload that shows how much water was on the ground, but believe me, it was a lot. We went back and dried out and ate dinner and then we went back out and started working again. It was crazy!
We also are still trying to work with Jaime - who is the one that has doubts about Thomas S. Monson being a prophet of God. We watched "On the Lord's Errand" the other day. I know he is a prophet of God as I watch that show. If it didn't help him it helped me a lot. Y'all should watch it someday for a family night and see how awesome it is. [A little side note on this... When we got back from the Ranch, we had a voicemail message from a sister in Round Rock that said Chris and his companion had just been to her house to borrow a video. She said how much they enjoyed having him there, what a good missionary he was, and that they were working hard and doing what they should be doing. We, of course, beamed with pride. It's fun to get phone calls like that.]
I think that is about it. Thanks for the encouragement and support. I love you all!
