Hello Family,
The family sounds like they are doing good. It is fun to hear about sports in the family and also with MC. I wish Buddha would have been my quarterback, like he is now. But it is all good. The house is looking good. They have a lot of windows on that one wall or two walls. I bet that was fun to lift up huh? They always get heavy when you have a lot of windows in them. To bad I wasn't there, I could have just lifted it up for you guys by myself. Ha!
Well yet another week has gone by here in the TSAM, and we are being flooded with blessings.
We had 3 investigators at church yesterday. One of them was Kevin who is the Zoroastrian and he is just coming to church for his wife and isn't really caring I think. But it still is progress, the fact that he is coming.
We then had Adam Vlieger. He and his sister will be baptized this Saturday. They are awesome and their family is awesome. We have been blessed for the chance that we are able to teach them and to baptize them. It is crazy how other missionaries have tried and they didn't want anything to do with it but then we just show up some random day and they say yes. It is a blessing!
The other person that we had, her name is Carina. We talked to her on Saturday and she was referred to us by some other missionaries who were referred by her friend. She lives in our area and so we will teach her. When we talked to her we set up a time to meet her on Sunday morning before church and so when we went over there she told us why she was so interested. Her story is sweet. She told us that she had been searching for a church for a while now and she has gone to like 60+ churches over the last 3 years or something. And she has a friend that is "Mormon" and feels that her sons were just great examples and great people. And so, since she has a son and seeing their examples, she has come to the decision that the Mormon church is the church that she wants her son to grow up in. And so she came to church and loved it, her 3 year old son loved nursery, and we are going to meet with her 2 times a week to help her progress and help her find that this is for her as well as her son. It is a blessing as well. Elder Loveless and I have realized that this area is booming, and now we just need to continue to work and stay humble and it will continue.
Also this week we found a guy named Bob. We have now taught him twice and he is reading from the Book of Mormon. The first day we gave him the book he read all of the chapter headings throughout the whole book. He said it took him all day. He has felt the spirit strongly and it is just now a matter of if he acts upon it or not. There isn't much to say about him. There will be next week because we are meeting with him twice this week too.
We are still teaching the other people from last week. Just not so hardcore yet. This week we will get them all going and hopefully all with baptismal dates.
One of the other cool things that happened this week was on Thursday. It is a testimony to me that tells me why I came back out and of how grateful I am that I did. A week and a half ago a kid from the McNeil Ward came home after 4 months of being on a mission. It is like the same stuff with me. On Thursday our Bishop called me and talked to me for like 25 minutes of how and what my Bishop did in order to help me get back out here. And he pretty much asked me for advice. So I told him of all the things that happened when I was home of how I met with Bishop Jones once a week and the things people said that helped me get back out and what not. And so that was a very humbling experience to see a Bishop that receives revelation for his Ward turn to me, a weak missionary, for some advice. Then on Friday or Saturday Elder Loveless and I went and visited this kid. He didn't know my story and so I shared my story and how I was able to get back out and why it is so important that I came back out and how it is for him to go back out. It was a very good time to share my experience and how I was able to get back out. And I believe that it helped him and I know that that is one of the reasons that I am still here and why I came back out. His family is awesome. His mom was telling me that when he got home that she said, "Well I have someone that you need to talk to." Which she was referring to me because our Ward knows about how I went home and what not. So it is yet another reason of how the Lord has sent me here for a reason. And I'm very grateful that I came back out. Because if I hadn't then maybe this kid down the road would not go back out because he wouldn't have heard my story of how I got back out.
Well I think that is about it. I do have a question. So do you Dad have like a thing with our line of priesthood authority or something? Because that would be very sweet to have.
Well I hope y'all have a good week. I love you all!
Elder Harvey
