Lots of Work to Do

Family,

Well another week has gone by. It's crazy sometimes, i feel like just yesterday I was sitting on this exact same computer emailing you guys. Little baby Kevin looks tiny, and super cute. Thanks for the pictures. I'm glad that everything went well with the birth and all. You guys have a crazy week in front of you, good luck with that. Katie is about to the point where she can drive herself around so that will be good, eh? Is she taking driver's ed or anything? Tell them good luck in their sports and school and what not.

But we have had a crazy week as well as a very good week. And also have a crazy week upcoming..

This last week we taught a lot of people. We are working hard and teaching a lot and helping people progress. We have about 5 progressing investigators. One with a date. I'll tell you about them.

The first one is the Vlieger kids. They are still tearin' in up. They are studs. Their family is awesome and we are so blessed for the chance to get to teach them. Because like for the last 2 years the ward and missionaries have been trying to get in there to get their kids baptized, and we are just the blessed ones. They are still coming to Church every week and loving it. So they will be baptized on September 4th. Pretty sick!

The next one we have that we are teaching/re-activating is Pershia and Kevin. They are both Iranian and she is a member and he is not. We go each week to their house and teach/talk with them. He is Zoroastrian? however you spell it but he is very closed to the message. But we are working on him and the Spirit is working on him because yesterday was the third week in a row that they came to church. She has been a member for over 20 years and was baptized in Germany. But she doesn't know a lot about the gospel because she didn't really understand what the missionaries were teaching her, but she has had a change of heart and is now becoming strong in the gospel and coming to church each week.

We then have Rose. We have been teaching Rose for about a month or two. She hasn't been progressing until lately. She is black and knows her bible and is a Katrina refugee. She talks and talks and talks! She is awesome though. The last time we met with her we talked the whole time of how she didn't feel good about her church that she goes to now and so we invited her out to church but she didn't come. But the Spirit is working on her hardcore because now the things we share about like The Plan of Salvation and Joseph Smith, she accepts and it is all clicking now. So she will be awesome once we can get her to church and she can feel the Spirit there.

The next one is Bobby. Bobby is a guy that we knocked into and we have taught him 3 times. He is reading from the Book of Mormon and is liking it. We think that he will receive an answer about the Book of Mormon real fast. He is very open to the lessons and the possibility that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. He is pretty hardcore smoker so that is a downer but if he is ready then he is ready.

The next one is Darrell. He is hardcore Bible man. The first time we talked to him he just wanted to bash on us because he didn't think we knew what he was talking about. He talked about the Trinity and how we are wrong about the Godhead, and other things. But the last two times we have gone back he has sat down and been like teach me, I want to learn more. So this week we are going to bring up John 19, which is where Christ is praying for his apostles and how they should be one. Because that is his huge argument where in the Bible it teaches about how Christ and God are one. But we are gonna show him some scriptures and allow him to pray about it, Elder Loveless feels like he is prepared to change and so we will see how that goes.
And that is it.

Cassius dropped off this week. He is not ready to change and is not progressing and his dad called us and chewed us out and threatened to call the cops on us for harassment, and so we were just like whatever he isn't ready. So that was a bummer but we have some sweet people to replace him.

We are tearin' it up here in McNeil. We are having good numbers and we have a lot of people that we are talking to. The Lord is truly blessing us each and every day to talk to certain people. I can see it all the time. It is awesome! I feel like I am here for a reason and I feel as if I have already seen many reasons that I am here.

I don't know if you have time or if it is possible to send me that blanket and my shaker thing for protein. I'm now taking protein out here and so it would benefit me. Just do it when you can and have time. Make Katie do it or something. Thanks!

So to end I will just share my testimony that I am very grateful that I came back out. Yes it is tough, yes it is hard, but it is very rewarding and bringing joy to me each day. I am growing my testimony each day, and that is because I am sharing it. So share it family with people that you know aren't members and it will grow. I love you all! Have a good week!

Elder Harvey
