Transfer Numero 3

First... some recent pictures

The six month mark "burning of the tie..." (08/03/2010).

Some things never change... being a screwball with "some sweet glasses" at a member's house.

"Happy Birthday to me..."

Familia,

Bueno bueno bueno, things are going great here in Austin now. As you know we had transfers this last week and I received a new companion. His name is Elder Loveless. He is from Provo, Utah and he has been out like 16 months. So I get another old one. Ha... we have worked pretty well together so far, no arguments or anything so that is good. We have had some pretty sick miracles happen this last week actually, and the work is beginning to pick up again.

We were able to get back in with Theresa and Chaz. I'm pretty sure that I told you about how they pretty much dropped us, but she was still reading from the Book of Mormon. So we just randomly stopped by the other day, they let us in, and we shared some things with them about the Restoration and the Book of Mormon. She is pretty strong in her testimony of the Book of Mormon, it is just trying to get him going that is kind of hard. We are going back on Thursday because they are feeding us and so that is our in. And the sweet thing about this Thursday is that when we left the last time, Theresa said, "I want to talk about what you gave me to read last time." I asked "What was that?" And she said, "2 Nephi 31 about baptism." So it is going to go great on Thursday and I will let you know how it goes. She was supposed to come to church yesterday but never showed up, but she will get there soon.

We also went by and visited a family that is less-active and the ward has been trying to get them back and reactivated for a long time apparently. Well they let us in and we started talking to the parents and we met the kids, and they have two kids that aren't baptized, and one that is and they are both members. So we brought up the kids being baptized and how we can do that and they accepted. So we are going back tonight to teach the kids because one is 10 and the other is 8 and we will hopefully get them baptized within the next month. It was a sweet miracle because Elder Walton and I tried to go by like 4 times and they were never there or never answered the door. So that was way legit!

We are still working with Cassius. He is still progressing towards his date on the 22nd. He just needs to stop smoking, and get on the right path. I wish you guys could meet him because he is like weirdly awesome, if that makes sense. He is a little different but does some way funny stuff.

My studies are going super legit lately. I just started like a month ago to keep a study journal and I have learned a lot. I look back at how my knowledge and my maturity was like 4 or 5 months ago and it is nothing compared to now. I am so grateful that I came back out, yes it has been hard sometimes and yes I get homesick sometimes, but the good times - when we are teaching someone and the spirit is there and they accept the message, or like at church and just to see how awesome both of our wards are - they all outweigh the hard times. And I'm grateful to have family and parents who encouraged me to come back out. Thank you.

I think that is about it. Just a couple of things that I need/want. Could you send me that green blanket or the blue blanket that I always used to sleep with? Maybe get one of those vacuum bag things and put it in there and send it to me? It would be very helpful. Also my protein and protein mixer thing. If those are still around I could use those as well. Just let me know.

Tell Grandma Johnson and Grandma and Grandpa Harvey "Thank you for the birthday cards" and that I will write them back as soon as I have time. Also tell the Bishop "Thanks" and that he is the best Bishop ever.

I think that is about all that happened this week. We are going to see some miracles this week as we work hard - I know it. I will fill you in on those next week. I love you all, thanks for the support. Tengan buen semana!

Elder Harvey
