Family,

Well it is Tuesday as you know, and you might be wondering why I'm emailing on Tuesday. It is because it is transfer this week already. I am... Staying. And so is my companion. So we will have another 6 weeks in this area together. I was pretty much expecting to stay and so was he. He has been here for 2 transfers and usually it is 3 transfers in one area. But we are excited.

The house is looking good. And it is good to hear that everything is going as usual. The Jeep breaking down, etc. Lexie just bought a Jeep Liberty. It's pretty nice. I don't know if she told you. I don't know if she told you as well but I sent her my SD card in the mail with all my pictures on it and I guess that it got damaged and it won't read. So there goes all my pictures for 1/2 of my mission. It's a bummer.

It was a pretty rough week this last week. We had success, just people not keeping their commitments and appointments. And we are teaching but people aren't willing to make a return appointment with us or anything. It's a little frustrating but what can you do right? We only had one person at church this last Sunday. His name is Adrian and he has been like a long term investigator for like 3+ months and isn't willing to make the commitment for baptism. But he did take a step this last week by staying for Priesthood, and it was a great lesson about sacrifice and everyone was sharing testimony of the sacrifices they made or their parents made to join the church and be members of the church. It was powerful.

So as we went through this last week we had a lot of interesting things happen to us. And most of it was from white people. It's amazing to me how much more rude, more prideful, and more mean white people are then Hispanic people. Yesterday I almost got into a brawl with some white guy when we knocked on his door.. We kind of provoked it though because like 5 minutes before we knocked on his door he threw a cigarette at us and so we watched where he lived and we went and knocked on it to see what would happen. It is pretty funny now that I think about it more, but that is the white culture I guess. But I need to have charity and love all, right? Yeah I'm still trying to work on that.

My Spanish is coming. I said, "I am learning a lot of things each day but it is difficult to apply those things each day. I can understand the majority of what people say and I try to have a conversation with them. It is funny sometimes trying to speak and have a conversation because it is difficult." And so pretty much when it comes to gospel related things it is in the bag and I can just piece things together to make a sentence. But like normal, just talking to someone it is pretty tough. But I'm learning, and I still have a long ways to go before I will be where I want to be.

I knew about Elder Berntson going home. It is a crazy story of how it happened and just tough luck. But he will be alright, and get back out here.

Here is a picture of my shoes... And yes, those are two major holes in the bottom. It's alright though I'm going to wear them my whole mission and see how bad they get. I thought it was cool with the preach my gospel in the background. Oh... and I could use like 30 dollars in my account. My helmet got stolen two days ago and now I have to buy a new one. Thanks!

I think that is about it for this week. I love you all!

Elder Harvey
