Family,
Well another week has gone by. Another holiday week... It was just a normal week though, except for the fact that all night I was waking up because of people screaming and fireworks going off. But it was a good week.
The highlight of our week was on Sunday. We had a baptism! I forgot my camera card to send a picture of it, but I will send one next week. His name was Victor Mendez. It was a great service.. One of the best that I have had. For some reason every baptismal service something goes wrong. But this one just went smoothly. The font was full, the talks and welcomes to the ward were great, everything went as planned on the program, and most importantly there was an outpouring of the spirit there that touched all. It was a great day for him and his family, his wife is a member, and hopefully in a year they will make it to the temple.
I have been feeling in a rut this last week, just with Spanish and everything else. But this made up for all the downers this past week...
We have a lot of people that we are teaching, it is just tough to get them to progress and to come to church because that is one of the most important things that they need to do. We were expecting like 8+ for sure at church yesterday and we only really had 2. It was a downer and a disappointment but the baptism made up for it. And we are going to get them there next week. Like I have said before the Spanish culture is hard to get to do things. Even when you talk to them the day before and they say "Yes we are going to do that" or "Yes, I am coming." But what can you do, right?
Honestly that is about it for my letter home. This week went fast, and not a lot of things happened except for the sweetest thing ever... a Baptism!
Have a good week! Love you all!
Elder Harvey
