Well another week has come and it has gone. The weather here is great. Not too hot and not even close to cold. It has rained a whole lot this last week. We got about 4 inches in 2 days and we are in a drought and so it helped a lot.
We are seeing miracles happen here in Marble Falls. We had Katie at church yesterday. We found her about 2 weeks ago or so, the first time we talked to her she would have invited us in but there was no other male there, but she told us she would come to church. She never came and so we didn't think too much about it, but we went back by and scheduled an appointment and we took a member to the appointment this last week. It was a real powerful lesson with her. As I look back at it, it was one of the greatest lessons we have had. We didn't even really teach anything until the last 5 minutes about The Book of Mormon. The whole lesson was solid testimony from me, Elder Frei, and Brother Fitzer, the member that went with us. The greatest part about that lesson was three simple questions that we asked her in a row. It went like this: "Katie, do you believe that we were sent from God?" Reply, "Yes". "Do you believe that you should be a member of this Church?" Reply, "Yes". "Will you follow Jesus Christ and be baptized?" Reply, "Yes". Then The Spirit bore record of the truth and touched her deep down inside. Hence why she came to church yesterday. She is pretty awesome.
We also, this last week, found a family of 7 that 6 of them are baptismal age. We have only taught the parents once, but they are reading from The Book of Mormon and are praying about it. We are pretty excited about them as well and will be working with them over the coming weeks...
It is hard sometimes, because the past week we have had 2 or 3 people tell us by reading The Book of Mormon that they just don't understand, and pretty much telling us that they give up. I haven't quite figured out why some people understand it and receive answers and some don't. But we really do have the faith that they will get an answer and so we are just waiting on that.
We are still working with our other people that we have found and we are in the process of finding more people as well.
The ward is beginning to trust us more and more. The way we know that is because our dinner calenders are starting to fill up. Now we should be getting referrals here soon..
If you want to give me an early birthday present, I know what I want. It is Talmage's "Jesus the Christ", from Deseret Book and it is the leather bound one. It is about 35 dollars or so. I have had the desire lately to read that book because it is all about the Savior and so I have begun, but I don't have one of my own, I'm using my companions.
Transfers are next week. I doubt that I'm going anywhere. I will most likely stay here with Elder Frei one more transfer and then I will probably get a new companion. We are seeing a lot of great things happening, just got to get them in the water for baptism!
Also I guess the renewal of my Credit Card should be coming in the mail or something? That would be great if you could send that to me when you get a chance.
That is about all that happened for this last week. Just working and trying to get lost in the work and share the TRUE Gospel with everyone. The Lord prepares people, and I know that, we just have to find them by the Spirit.
