Well, yet another week has gone by. This week went by real fast, and next week will do the same because we have Zone Conference and service coming up this week.
This last week was good. Tuesday I went on exchanges with the Zone Leaders and I went to their area, the Single's Ward. It is a sweet area and it would be awesome to serve in that University of Texas Single's Ward. Hopefully one day I get to serve there, but we will see.
Also... It is interesting how I keep running into people that either 1) need to hear my experience of coming back out or 2) just are having a rough time and need to talk. The reason I say that is because the Zone Leaders live with two other elders that cover the Austin Ward. One of the elders that was there, when I was in riverside, is a stud. He is from Preston and we knew a lot of the same people. He knows Cam Webb and stuff like that. Well he has been out almost 6 months, but he just went home for the same things as me. So we had a real good talk about it and everyone knows that I came back out and so it was real good for him.
He isn't going to have much support when he goes home to come back out and so I don't know if he will. But I told him the blessings of it and how it has changed my life for the better and why it is so important for him to come back out. He is looking to get back out in December, and so if he doesn't I'll be driving up to Preston when I get home in February to see what the deal is. Only time will tell...
We found some good people in our area this last week. We have taught them all once and are going back sometime this week. We were about 95% sure that one of them was going to come to church yesterday because she lives across the street from it, literally, and she was real excited for it when we taught her on Friday. But she didn't come because she was feeling sick because she is pregnant. It was a bummer because we got our hopes up and then they got shot down. I think it really took a toll on my companion because he said he was 100%, but I just told him you can't let it get you down because it happens too much in the mission field.
We also did some service this last week. Yet once again, we started painting an inactive member's house. We will also be doing some finish work for him and so I get to use some of my skills. It's always good to serve because the scripture in Mosiah 2:17 is true, "..when ye are in the service of your fellow men, ye are only in the service of your God."
Things are going great though. I'm enjoying the work and working hard. Obviously there are those times where we think of home but it goes away fast as we get to work. Plus less of them are getting to me. And so things are great!
Until next week. Love you all!
Elder Harvey
