Happy November

Dad,

Well another week has gone. This week is transfer week. We received our transfer calls last night and I'm... leaving. I don't feel as if my work here is done yet because we have some GREAT things happening in the next transfer. But I'll go where the Lord wants me to go. We came up with about 4 areas that I could go to. We will find out on Thursday.

This last week was a tough week for us. We haven't really found anyone new and a lot of our appointments cancelled on us. But I was reminded at church during Gospel Principles class of the blessings that we have received. At the beginning of the class our Ward Mission Leader had everyone introduce themselves. So they went around the room and just hearing our investigators, or our recent converts, say that they are at church because of the Elders and they are glad to be there really helped me realize that I am truly blessed and even though it was a hard week, the Lord is watching over us. As it went around, it got to Chris, our investigator, he talked about how his life has changed since meeting with us and how it is our fault that he is there... when it got to Jody, she talked about how she will be getting married this week on Friday and then baptized on Saturday... when it went to Dana she talked about how she just got baptized and she is excited to keep progressing, it truly was a blessing and brightened up the whole week.

So yes, Garry and Jody will be getting married on Friday, baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday. Obviously transfers are on Thursday and so I will not be able to make it. Hopefully I don't go to far away and I can get permission to come back for it. They are a great family and are going to do great in the church. It was a blessing to teach them and see the many miracles that happened in their journey.

I'm a little disappointed to think that I'm leaving this area because of all the great things that will happen this next transfer. They should baptize 5 people... Which will double the baptisms in this area for the year. Chris and Gabby will be two of those. They have been two of my favorite investigators to teach in my whole mission. Chris is a changed man. He has quit smoking weed and tobacco, he is now praying daily, coming to church every week and loving it, and he is now reading the scriptures every day. Last night we had a lesson with him and Gabby at the Sherrill's house. It is a family that are around the same age. The lesson was amazing and they really felt the Spirit. We watched the movie "Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration", the one that they play in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and boy, was it a good thing to watch with them. After the movie, Chris, bore his testimony of Joseph Smith and how he knows that "Joseph Smith restored the gospel and the true organization of the church on the earth." The best part about it was that after bearing his testimony he said "In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." Just like a member. It was great! I love those two and they have taught me a lot about conversion and what it means. They will be getting baptized on the 10th of December.

Elder Claudio D. Zivic came to the mission on Friday and we had a San Antonio Zone Conference. He doesn't speak much English because he is from Spain, but he did an amazing job and gave us a lot of inspiration. He was so funny... Because he couldn't speak a lot of English he would just say yes to every comment and then look for more comments. He met with all the Zone Leaders after the conference and just gave us some goals that we need to work on. And after that meeting to finish it off he gave us all a hug. Yep, that's right Elder Harvey hugged a Seventy! Boo-ya!!

That is the latest news here in the mission field. 12 more weeks!! Love you all!

Elder Harvey
